Walter Cronkite is PO'd
Sorry for the long delay between posts. I hope everyone had a a happy Thanksgiving.
This is from last week, but I think it's approprate with Tom Brokaw's retirement tonight.
If the year was 1974 instead of 2004, when Cronkite was still on the job, he would have had Bush ridden out of Washington on a rail long ago. It just proves how toothless the media is nowadays. I was only 14 when he retired, but I'd still trust him over anyone on TV today. What America needs right now, legendary TV anchor Walter Cronkite said Thursday, is a new election -- and, he warned a laughing press conference full of reporters, he wasn't kidding.
''That's not entirely a joke,'' Cronkite said solemnly, arguing that the Bush administration has spent itself into ruin while embroiling the country in a war that will eventually make public revulsion to the war in Vietnam look ``like peanuts.''
